THE MODEL

It will get british! Katy Cee has worked with numerous fine art photographers worldwide and I can see great potential in her images – so I decided to let you take part on this outstanding posing talent!

CONTENTS AND GOALS

We will work on the topic “aesthetic & sculptural nude photography” using different sets. We will work together in a group of 6 photographers.

Whats important shooting aesthetic nudes? How to interact with the model and how to develop interesting poses? How do I design my light setup and what are my goals? How do I optimal use the presets of my camera? Whats the amount of postprocessing with Lightroom or Photoshop on the image?

All this questions will be discussed and solved during the masterclass in a team-like athmoshere.

Goal of the masterclass is to offer participating photographers a productive day with intersting impressions for their personal work and let them create first class images. My personal goal is that we create images with unique and clear aesthetics.

Learning by doing – with fun and without stress: thats the main goal of the masterclass.

THE MASTERCLASS

To create unique images you have to set up an extraordinary environment: From October 12th til October 19th 2012 I am offering a full week nude photography masterclass in Arcos de la Frontera, Spain. I will rent a cortijo for exclusive usage which is base camp and shooting location at the same time. Here we will create indoor studio nudes and available light nudes and outdoor on location nudes. Our location will provide enough space for all participating photographers and the whole crew. It is the framework for a productive and creative week filled with photography.

With 12 participating photographers, 4 models, 3 assistants and 1 makeup artist we will discover fascinating locations in the Cadiz area. Enjoying the rural ambiente of Cortijo Barranco we will dedicate our time and passion to photography and post production. Where else can you spend your whole daytime on photography with different group constellations and models?

Participating photographers will be offered an exceptional experience: professional models who are not only photogenic but also socially skilled, continous support during the creation of images and location which allows working in a relaxed athmosphere.

Plus we will do excursions to different locations of the Cadiz region and use the landscape as the scenery for perfect nude photography: the unique Andalusian countryside with places like dunes, cliffs, nature-reserve areas, hillside, city scenery and other highlights will result in a diversity of options which will impress photographers with its variety.

We will have the support of a make up artist during the shootings, the whole crew is participating every shoot all the time. We want to work concentrated with the models, and dont want to interact with technical aspects of the cameras. Experimenting is welcome, sponaneous ideas of the photographers can be realized. I prefer working together in a team helping each other during the shoot, so everyone has the optimal learning experience. At the beginning of the week we will discuss possible sets and we will work on the targeted goals togehter with the models.

The evening hours will be the time for collective meals and discussions about photography, and should stand for relaxation and input at the same time.

CONTENTS AND GOALS

We will work all the week on the topic “aesthetic & sculptural nude photography” using different sets every day. We will work twice a day with one  model and one assistant in 4 different groups of 3 photographers each.

Whats important shooting aesthetic nudes? How to interact with the model and how to develop interesting poses? How do I design my light setup and what are my goals? How do I optimal use the presets of my camera? Wheres the difference between available light, studio flash light and how to combine both? Whats the amount of postprocessing with Lightroom or Photoshop on the image? And how do I find my personal workflow?

All this questions will be discussed and solved during the masterclass in a team-like athmoshere.

The masterclass also covers the postprocessing topics – we will regularly hold photoshop or lightroom sessions and help with the editing of your images. On the final evening every photographer can present his best of portfolio from the masterclass.

Each one of them stands for full engagement during the shootings and every one of them understands my aesthetic mantra. The female models have been in my studio before and we created wonderful images in the studio and on outdoor locations. It was important that i know every model personally so i can guarantee the social and professional abilty of each crew member!

International published german photographer Thorsten Jankowski is active for many years in portraiture and nude-photography, his work is iconic. „Thorsten Jankowski uses his models like a sculptor“ judges „GQ“. And its right: You can notice that the creator of the architectonic composed images studied design. Human beeings become scupltures in Thorstens’ work. The view on them is surprising, the perspectives are new. The accurate and intelligent light setup confers something holy to the scenery. His models have expression and are polarising, and thats what Thorsten indends.
